What does it take to help people see an industry more fully? Start by listening to the people who know it best.
When our client Dairy Management, Inc. (DMI) set out to share a fuller picture of dairy farming today, the goal was to show the expertise, relationships and decisions behind the dairy foods people know and enjoy. Together, DMI and our Golin Ketchum Food, Agriculture and Nutrition team, developed Portraits of Modern Dairy around seven women whose stories bring that picture to life.
In collaboration with State and Regional Dairy teams, the farmers and their families welcomed us onto their farms and trusted us to share their experiences. Their generosity made the work possible.
Alongside a wonderful production crew, we spent time on six farms, documenting days that often began before sunrise. We saw how each farmer draws on experience, technology and the people around her to make decisions for her farm. Those moments shaped the photography, film and first-person stories, and reminded us that no single portrait could tell the whole story of modern dairy.
Our team traveled more than 1,500 miles helping to capture these stories, and we are proud to play a role in bring these to a wider audience through a truly integrated effort across our creative, entertainment, media, production, analytics and paid media teams.
